HOW IT ALL BEGAN...
Our humble beginnings started back in 1975 when David Fidler started selling refurbished office furniture from his house. After using lock-up garages and barns for storage he purchased his first commercial premises in Eastleigh High Street in 1978, where new furniture sales was also introduced. In 1982 we expanded into a second unit in Portsmouth, and then in 2003 the founders purchased a 15,000sqft warehouse in Havant, consolidating into a single location. In 2024 we relocated the office to the prime Port Solent location overlooking Portsmouth harbour, along with 38,000 sqft of warehouse space nearby. We also have regional warehouse facilities in North London, Manchester and Glasgow.
The founders have extensive experience in the furniture sector with over 100 years combined, and Agilita is now recognised as a reputable supplier of quality commercial furniture.

Agilita partners with carefully considered companies that produce sustainable, environmentally-friendly products made from waste materials.
Sustainable furniture is a responsible consumer choice that many forward-thinking companies are looking to embrace. We’ve sourced products that are made from recycled plastic bottles and have designed their products according to the circular design principles which aim to maximise lifetime usage, minimise waste, and ensure that materials can be re-used again and again.
For example, Studio Vix offers ‘Leaf’, an acoustic pinboard using 100% recycled textile felt created out of old denim jeans, as well as ‘Butterfly’ that is made from 100% recycled PET plastic. Dutch supplier Vepa create a remarkable range of tables which have tops made from recycled plastic fished out of the canals of Amsterdam!
MATERIALS
Many of the products use fabrics or materials that have been carefully selected to keep waste out of landfill; items such as recycled plastic bottles in Persy Booths acoustic panels, old denim upcycled into the leaf-shaped sound-absorbing pinboard by Studio Vix, and TOOtheZOO products only sourcing materials from reputable suppliers in The Netherlands to consciously reduce their carbon footprint.
